12 Netflix titles that help teach kids the value of kindness. | Dearest Geeks of EarthNotebooks are crisp, pencils are sharpened, approximately eleventy mabillion boxes of tissue are packed in backpacks, and the air is electric with scholarly excitement.

Back-to-school season is officially here, and in just a few days, kids everywhere will embark on new academic adventures. My two are already talking about everything they hope to learn in the classroom this year – how to read is on the youngest’s life list, while the oldest is focused on mastering multiplication and division.

I of course worry about life lessons the kids will learn outside the classroom. The ones that can’t really be taught so much as modeled – empathy, kindness, compassion and service to others.

We talk about acts of kindness often, focusing on the small, simple ways we can all make a difference in the lives of those around us.

Netflix is helping reinforce those lessons with 12 titles that help kids see the good in others while learning how to treat others with kindness and respect, no matter their age or ability:

I really love this list. Such a great line up for the kiddos. I must say, it seems like kindness and respect has gone by the way side at times.

      Thanks, Annie!

We’re big believers in positive energy and teach our two that “you get what you give.”

That being said, visual aids always help, and sometimes, kids just get it more when they can see good in action. Hence, Netflix.
