Disney and Huffington Post team up for #CitizenKid campaign.

Disney and Huffington Post team up for #CitizenKid, a campaign about ordinary kids doing extraordinary things. | Dearest Geeks of EarthHomegrown lemonade stands, recycling initiatives, neighborhood do-gooders- we all know some pretty cool kids turned changemakers.

Disney is celebrating young agents of change by launching a new Citizen Kid campaign, kicking off with a Google Hangout co-hosted by Huffington Post on August 27 from 10 a.m.-11a.m. PST.

The live, online event will see parents from Disney’s Citizen Kid web series, plus bloggers from Babble.com come together to share ways they’ve enouraged their children to embrace their own unique interests and talents and use them for good, accomplishing extraordinary things in their communities along the way.

Farah Miller, Executive Editor of Huffington Post’s Family + Relationships section will lead the roundtable discussion, and viewers can join the conversation with questions, comments, and their own stories by using #CitizenKid on Twitter and Facebook.

Can’t watch live? A video of the Hangout will be posted on Babble’s YouTube page post event.

Never heard of citizen kid, sounds like something fun and maybe something my daughter would be interested in looking into.
