Friends wins at life.
Those who still weave quotes from the iconic show into everyday conversation know that to be fact.
And now, “Central Perk,” the sitcom coffee shop we all wish was in our neighborhood, is coming New York City for a limited time in celebration of the show’s TWENTIETH anniversary. (We’re old, yo.)
The event, called “The One With the Free Coffee,” will see a replica pop-up shop opening in downtown Manhattan at 199 Lafayette Street in SoHo. Doors open to the public on Sept. 17 following a special media preview Monday and Tuesday, and will remain open through Oct. 18. Hours are currently set at 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.
Free cups of Eight O’Clock Coffee and limited-edition Central Perk Roast (created just for the occasion) will be served, and while fans check out signature props from the show, relax on the iconic orange couch, sing-along to live musical performances a la “Smelly Cat,” and win prizes via in-store promotions, they might even get the chance to hang out with the original barista, James Michael Tyler (Gunther!)
Until then, check out this mini Friends reunion orchestrated by Jimmy Kimmel that saw Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, and Lisa Kudrow acting out a little fan fiction:

This is so cool. Are you sure about the 20 year old thing? Wow, we are old. I miss FRIENDS. Love that show so much.
