‘DILFS of Disneyland’ is nothing more than a visual catcall. And it’s creepy.

Don’t worry, this one’s totally SFW and SFK. Though if your kids ask, tell them “DILFs” stands for “dads I’d like to have fun with.”

'DILFS of Disneyland' is nothing more than a visual catcall. And it's creepy. | Dearest Geeks of EarthWe mostly heart the internet and its crazy combination of mindless fluff and hard-hitting news stories. Until we don’t.

Because dilfs_of_disneyland.

The new Instagram account turned visual catcall is pretty tame – a collection of good-looking, muscle-teed, Vans-wearing, mainly hipster and rockabilly California dads who someone with an annual pass presumably wants do moany things with. Still, it’s the inescapable creep factor that makes us frowny.

It’s not the dads themselves who bother us, because we all know seeing a man with babies and Bjorns and strollers has a way of making things explode with rainbows and glitter. What’s more, the teeny tiny ear hats and bitty character costumes on their offspring only serve to make our babymakers threaten volcanic eruption from the cute.

But what does bother us is that most of these unassuming “DILFs” (ick) don’t seem to know they’re being found, photographed and filtered. So, creepshots. (To be fair, some of the subjects are looking at the camera, leading us to believe their photos were consensually shared with the account.)

And seriously, DILFs? Pretty sure the 90s would like to keep that claim to phraseology fame, and lest it make us too pearl-clutchy, gross.

Disneyland is the happiest place on earth because it lets us leave age at the door, encouraging us to channel our inner wide-eyed kid, and generally just have G-rated fun as a family. This kind of ruins it. Because the idea of getting busy juxtaposed with pics of babies being viewed by randos trolling the internet makes us wring our hands a little.

But DILFs Of Disneyland Is The Instagram Account You’ve Actually Been Waiting For, and ‘DILFs Of Disneyland’ Is Our Favorite New Instagram Account proclaim Buzzfeed and LAist. It’s not creepy, it’s a celebration of hotness! Refinery 29 even goes so far as to call it a “hot dad heat-map.” Hi-fives for the clever turn of phrase on that last one, but you know if it was “MILFs of Magic Kingdom” or “Hot Moms of Hollywood Studios,” a lot of people would be grabbing their feminist pitchforks, decrying the sexual objectification of women. Of mothers.

We get that parenthood strips moms and dads of their sexuality, and some may even find the whole MILFs/DILFs thing a huge compliment. Maybe even a welcome ego boost. That’s cool. We don’t judge. We know what it’s like to live in the endless service of the tiny humans we made. But still. Why not go with something more tame to fit the equally tame shots? “Cute Disney Dads” is way less creepy and still keeps the alliteration this account seems to like.

At the very least, why not just ask a potential dad before posting his photo online, watermarking it and putting his kids’ little faces out there?

Well that was unexpected! I know very little about Disney but perhaps I need to look into this a little more… All for the good of parenthood research of course.

I guess I’m not surprised that this is out there. I wonder how the dads would feel if they knew they were photographed? A little creepy that someone’s stalking dads (and their kids) at Disney. Maybe we need a focus group to discuss this a bit more and review the site. All for the sake of research of course!

While that feed certainly is yummy, I don’t like the idea that someone could take my picture (or my husband’s or kids) and put it up like that. They really should have permission before posting kids pictures!

OMG, look at that instagram following. Pretty sick, as in the bad kind. Man oh man, I mean. Ugh. The stalker factor is definitely creepy.
