We all know vulgarity is no substitute for wit, but heaven knows what the Dowager Countess of Grantham would make of an app that shares some of her most acerbic Downton Abbey one-liners.
Cleverly named “Downtonisms,” the soundboard-turned-app plays more than 160 memorable quotes from seasons 1-4 as uttered, enunciated and otherwise proclaimed by Lady Violet, Lady Mary, Mr. Carson, and nine other characters from above and below stairs.
The app also features a quiz that challenges you to match “Downtonisms” to the characters who said them.
We’re giddy, even though Carson would obviously not approve.
