Genevieve Goings wins at singing. Because all kids' music should have soul. | Dearest Geeks of EarthYour kids might know Genevieve Goings as the voice behind Disney Junior’s Choo Choo Soul, but there’s more to the chanteuse for the school-going set than ties to the House of Mouse.

She’s spent the past 10 years teaching littles the fundamentals of fun through contemporary song (that appeals to adults too!), and has been touring throughout the U.S. and Canada since 2007.

We first met her and her partner, beatboxing railroad engineer Constantine “DC” Abramson, during the Imagination Movers’ Big Warehouse Tour in 2011, and my oldest still remembers her infectious smile.

Her first solo album, Do You Know?, debuted over the summer to rave reviews, and the catchy beats that bump “My Telephone Number Is” helped our kids (finally) learn their home phone number. The struggle is real, you guys.

Listen and learn:

The rest of the songs, written primarily for kindie rockers ages 2-7 years old, tackle the all-important childhood musts – telling time, bedtime, hygiene and potty training.

We’ll be catching up with Goings after the holidays to learn more about her latest endeavors – stay tuned.
