ShopAdvisor might be the only money-saving app you need for the holidays. Or ever.

ShopAdvisor might be the only money-saving app you need for the holidays. Or ever. | Dearest Geeks of EarthTemps are going down, holiday decorations are going up, and keeping track of sales and kids’ Christmas lists can make you nuttier than a fruit cake.

ShopAdvisor can help.

A product search engine-turned-prettily-designed app, this free service tracks the best deals on must-have coolness you saw in at the store (there’s a built-in barcode scanner), in a magazine (digital or hard copy), on a website, or even via tweet or Facebook post.

All you have to do is track products you discover by saving them to a watch list. When ShopAdvisor detects a price drop, you’ll get an alert via email or text message, and feel smug about all the money you saved. You can also set alerts for a future date so to remind you of purchases you want to make.ShopAdvisor might be the only money-saving app you need for the holidays. Or ever. | Dearest Geeks of EarthNot ready to shop yet? Go ahead and comparison shop. ShopAdvisor posts product guides, price history, most popular searches, biggest price drops in the past 24 hours, and can even show you the lowest prices online and locally for an item.

So excited you don’t even want to leave the app to make your purchase while on your mobile phone? Buy immediately through a ShopAdvisor link.

ShopAdvisor monitors prices on 2 million+ products from more than 16,000 retailers – think Amazon, Target, Nordstrom, Sephora –  and even local brick-and-mortars if you allow location services on the app.

Download ShopAdvisor (it’s free!) for iOS and Android.

Oh I love this app. What a great concept. I can’t tell you the number of hours I’ve spent looking up each product separately. This is being downloaded right now!

We’re really digging it too, Lori! Looking up everything individually is such a time suck. Whatever makes it easier and more streamlined and doesn’t make our brains cry.

Very cool!! Now if only I could find something to put onto a wish list. The problem with my daughter only wanting ebooks and iTunes music (plus hugs and kisses) is that you don’t have anything to really give. I miss the toy stage a little bit.

What about a little something special for your or your spouse, Tamara?

This is such a great app to have around the holidays, right? It can do so much! I love comparison shopping! But who has time. Looks like ShopAdvisor saves the day!

No parent has time to comparison shop. Seriously. This app is a total game changer, Annie!

Seems like this could save a TON of money with the holidays! I might not even need to plan out my Black Friday shopping if I use this!

Or at the very least, you can better strategize your Black Friday shopping to make it as quick and semi-painless as possible, Heather!

This is fantastic!! I’m terrible at taking the time to search for deals on my own, this looks like a great app for me!!

This is perfect! I always wait for this week to do most of our Christmas shopping so the ShopAdvisor app will be handy as I organize my lists!

Whatever gets us through holiday shopping relatively unscathed, right Divina?

What a great idea. I will have to get Shopadvisor and make sure I’m armed with it before my next shopping trip!
