Friendship is the best super power ever. Just ask Barbie.

Friendship is the best super power ever. Just ask Barbie. | Dearest Geeks of EarthAstronaut, ballerina, photographer, chef, tour guide, pilot, veterinarian, doctor, teacher, yoga instructor – Barbie’s been all of them and more, so it was only a matter of time before she added superhero to her list.

And in her newest movie out today, Barbie in Princess Power, the iconic blonde stars as Kara (Silver Age Supergirl fans will recognize the riff), a modern-day princess who discovers she has super powers thanks to a magical butterfly kiss.

Super Sparkle (Super Barbie’s secret, crime-fighting alter ego), takes to the skies with her two trusty sidekicks – a super-powered pet dog and cat – reforming bad guys, keeping reporter Ken out of trouble, and generally saving the day.

But when Barbie’s jealous cousin finds out about this newfound princess power, she catches the butterfly and also transforms – this time into nemesis Dark Sparkle. Soon afterward, the two will discover the kingdom’s true enemy, and will have to put aside their differences in the name of friendship.

We’re pleased to partner with Mattel to give away 5 Barbie in Princess Power Blu-rays to five lucky winners. The giveaway ends on Friday, March 5 at 11:59 p.m. CST. Rules/regulations can be found here.

I have all boys, so I am totally out of the Barbie loop. I think my nieces like Barbies, so I will be sure they know about this

At least if Barbie is a superhero that’s something to like about her.

I’m digging that Barbie has super powers and that she looks more human here. I’ll have to check this movie out for my girls.
